Recently, Myostat was asked to specify a motor and gearbox for a new client. Their application, a lighting aperture, had very specific size and performance considerations and we worked with them to determine their unique size, torque and speed requirements. Once everything was taken into consideration, we recommended the HY Gearbox paired with a Cool Muscle 17L30 motor, ideal for micro linear actuators.

The new HY series Hypoid right angle gearboxes provided a great solution. Suitable for input torques between 76 N-CM and 357 N-CM. These high efficiency gearboxes offer a high gear ratio in a small footprint and are available in 5:1 and 10:1 ratios.

With the specifications complete, we assisted the client with programming of the motor to ensure that the combination performed perfectly. The design has been released for less than a month now and has received very positive feedback and accolades.
